Arunachal Govt. signs MOU with Smart Village Movement

The govt. of Arunachal Pradesh has signed a memorandum of understanding with Smart Village Movement to introduce recent technology, Research and Development, open innovation and curriculum development in a few selected villages of the state.

According to sources, Prof.Solomon Darwin, executive director of Garwood centre for corporate innovations, University of California,Berkley will be the advisor to the SVM core team throughout their operations in Arunachal Pradesh.

Smart village movement is a community, empowered by digital technologies and open innovation to access global market as a whole.

As per the report, after successful execution of this Smart village movement in Andhra Pradesh, upon the request of the Arunachal Chief MinisterPemaKhandu, SVM decided to start their operations in the villages of Arunachal Pradesh as well.

“After knowing the success story of SVM in Andhra Pradesh many states had come forward to have a tie up with us. Since Arunachal is known to be one of the most backward states in India, we decided to stick to this state first so that this state can be taken as a model of example in the future,” said Arun Sharma a member of the SVM core team.

In a recent development the SVM team has selected 9 candidates out of 30 candidates they selected from around the different cities of India for their operations in the districts of Arunachal Pradesh as a part of their movement.

According to the project director of SVM ShreyaEvani SVM would start their journey shortly in Arunachal and in the first 6 months they would be preparing the core team for the project along with some ground work i.e capacity building, awareness and research, corporatepivoting and reaching out to different universities as a part of the project.
